Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity are just a few of the rewards young people gain from participating in Leos. They also happen to be the values that create the acronym of our club name.

LEOs are between the ages of 12 and 18 and are from a specific highschool or community. They are sponsored by a local Lions Club and are part of a Larger LEOs organization withing each district. Our Rowlett LEOs will make the 7th LEOs Club in our district. We currently have 17 members with a goal of 20 members by the summer.

Fund Raisers

Our main fund raiser is the ongoing sale of "Pull Tabs" at Country Club Bingo located at the corner of Country Club Rd. and Castle Dr. in Garland.  Since 1987, The Rowlett Lions Club has been one of several  non-profits operating this facility on a full time basis. The sale of Bingo cards, daubers, and pull tabs have allowed us to give generously to many hospitals, charities, and other non-profits in the community while fulfilling all our international mandates for charitable giving.  The Lions Club works this fundraiser by having each member sell pull tabs from 6:30 to 7:30 on Sunday and Thursday, once every two months.  These two hours every two months by each member have provided us with the ability to do some really heart warming things for our community.

A second fund raiser that has been a regular event in our club is the Annual Childrens Magic Show held at the Rowlett High School auditorium each December.  This is an event that we sponsor, but requires no Lions Member effort as it is performed by contracted services with a guaranteed return to our club. This fund raiser has allowed us to make significant donations to the community food bank located at the 1st Christian Church in Rowlett and to give to the Rowlett Needy Childrens Fund on a regular basis.

The Rowlett Lions Club is proud to be an active member in the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce. We are well represented at the weekly networking breakfast at Jason's Deli and all Chamber events.

Another fund raiser that we began in 2012 is an annual Golf Tournament at the Waterview Golf Course in Rowlett. We had a successful outing in 2013 and look forward to our next one this April with even bigger prizes.
