Recycle Cell phones for our troops

Rocklin Lions are setting new records by supplying our troupes overseas with thousands of 300 minute ATT Global Military calling cards. With your support we are recycling cell phones. All funds received from this project go directly to support service members keeping them and their buddies in contact with their family’s back at home. We are using Cell-Me of Boise ID to recycle our cell phones.

Cell-Me of Boise, ID has been digitally flash cleaning and recycling cell phones collected by the Rocklin Lions every month for nearly nine years Their policy is to digitally clean or crush each phone they receive. The Cell Me Cell policy is available on the following site: http://cellmerecycle.com/

White Cane Day is a fundraiser to raise money for sight activities such as paying for eye exams and glasses for the needy.

Collecting Eye Glasses  Approaching 400,000 glasses reclaimed

Since 2005 the Rocklin Lions have collected used prescription eyeglasses at an ever increasing rate of 3 to 4 thousand pair each month from participating optometrists and lost & found venues,e.g. casinos, cruise lines, etc. throughout the USA.

This is just the first step, Lion members count and deliver what would otherwise be discarded to the Folsom Prison Folsom Project where each pair is sonically sanitized and cataloged according to a state of the art electronic prescription reading by inmates learning to help others. Regular shipments are sent around the world to free health clinics, i.e., Doctors Without Borders and to emergency relief following natural disasters.

A hands-on service organization, the Rocklin Lions, is changing and improving lives every day with the donation of your old prescription eyeglasses. Look for the special collection boxes throughout our community: library, churches, schools and vision centers.
