The Somerset Valley YMCA and The Raritan Lions Club came together for a fundraiser to benefit the Somerset County community. The winning ticket was drawn by Vanda Ferreira, a member of the Somerset Valley YMCA Board of Directors and Raritan Lions Club Fundraising Director, along with David Laggini, President, Raritan Lions Club. The drawing took place on August 7, 2009 at the Neshanic Station Golf Club. The lucky winner of a 50' Plasma TV was Tom Burger, a Hillsborough resident.

 

 

September 27, 2009.  The Raritan Lions Club came together to celebrate the true means of lionism by being present to support the Raritan Borough Parade to solute World War II Hero John Basilone. Amongst those lions were President David Laggini, Vice President Brandy Civick, Treasurer Angelo Laggini, Fundraiser Director Vanda Ferreira, Roy Nash and Bobbie Limone members of the club.

 

The Raritan Lions Club hosted their first longaberger Basket Bingo event on Saturday, Feb. 20. Family, friends, clients and colleagues of the club members, attended the event .With the funds raised at the Lions Bingo Bash the group hopes to reach more families in the community that are in need. The Raritan Lions thank everyone for their support and donations that made this event huge success.

For the second year in a row Vanda Ferreira Vice president of Provident Bank in Bridgewater provided a luxury suite at a Somerset Patriots game on July 20 to the seniors of the Raritan Wellness Center. Ms. Ferreira also donated $500.00 from the Bridgewater branch and helped to provide the Center with two grants from the Raritan Lions Club. The Provident Bank Foundation also donated a $1000.00 grant to the Center. Lynda Augustine Manager of The Raritan wellness center said "On behalf of our seniors and myself I would like to thank Vanda for her tireless work volunteering to help our local community and enrich the lives of local seniors".
