  • Buschman Park Clean-up -  occurs every month with the help of the area Girl Scouts.

  • Buschman Park Sensory Trail - Phase 1 began on Saturday, September 8th, 2012.  Over 100 plants were placed under the direction of Kevin Bagwell.  Kevin designed the garden and the Lions purchased the native plants from his garden center, Full Moon Natives.  Girl Scouts and Lions worked together to make this happen!!
  • In the spring of 2015 a group of former club members replanted the herb garden and purchased a sign designating this area the Harold D. Cardwell Memorial Sensory Garden.  They shared their work with Priscilla Cardwell on April 15th and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

  • White Cane Days - Currently conducted approximately 4 times a year at various retail sites

                        

                              

  • Highway Adoption - We have adopted a two-mile portion of Dunlawton St. from just west of Stonewood's  to Ridgewood Ave.  We clean this area 4 times a year. 

                     

        3 times a year food baskets are distributed to needy families in Port Orange.  At Christmas time gifts for the children are also included.  Lion Rocky and Lion Bill pack a turkey for one of the Thanksgiving baskets.  

 

Tree Planting - December, 2011

Trees were planted at Buschman Park in cooperation with the Girl Scouts.  The city helped by marking trees so they wouldn't be moved off.
