EACH YEAR THE CLUB HONORS BIG SPRING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED ACADEMIC AND SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND LIVE IN THE PLAINFIELD AREA.  HERE ARE THE 2017 - 2018 STUDENTS THE CLUB HAS HONORED:

 

JUNE

Megan is a recent graduate of Big Spring High School.  She was a member of the Art Club and the National Art Honor Society.  She also helped with the Gears Literary Magazine.  Outside of school, Megan enjoys the outdoors and, of course, painting.  Megan will be attending Shippensburg University in the fall and plans to major in Art.  Megan is the daughter of Robert and Diane Stambaugh and has a sister Emily.

MAY

Shannon is a senior at Big Spring High School.  She is a member of the Mu Alpha Theta, which is the Math National Honor Society.  She was a member of the Big Spring Soccer team in the fall and served as one of the captains this year.  But she is better known as the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State AA Girls Diving Champion for 2018 as a member of the Big Spring Swimming and Diving team.  Outside of school, Shannon is a coach for the Big Spring Aquatic Club, a club that helped her become the diver she is today.  She is a life guard at the Carlisle Community pool during the summer and belongs to a club diving team in York and Hershey known as the Soaring Eagles Dive Club.  Shannon also is finishing an internship at Chambersburg Summit Health where she helped in the Radiology Department.  Shannon will be attending West Chester University in the fall and hopes to continue both her academic and athletic careers.  She plans to major in Forensic Toxicology or Biology.  She also plans to continue diving for the University and coach Ronn Jenkins.  Shannon is the daughter of Keith and Brandy McCabe, and has an older sister in Chelsea.

​APRIL

SAMANTHA MEACOCK

Samantha Meacock is a senior at Big Spring High School.  Samantha is a member of the National Honor Society, the Math National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society (which is a club that she help start at Big Spring and serves as Vice-President), Club CARE and Student Council.   She served as a lawyer on the Mock Trial team.  She plays the trombone in the Concert and Jazz Band.  She was a member of the Big Spring Bulldog field hockey team and served as a captain during her senior year.  She also teaches field hockey to young children in the Pixie Sticks club.  Outside of school, she plays on the Central Penn Elite field hockey team and has a black belt in karate.  She also won the regionals and advanced to the state finals in the National History Day contest sponsored by the University of Maryland.  Sammi plans to attend Swarthmore College in the fall and major in biochemistry.  Her goal is to attend medical school after college and to become a physician.  She also plans to play field hockey at Swarthmore.  Samantha is the daughter of Bill and Kim Meacock and has 2 younger brothers in Will and Max.

MARCH

ZOE MARINACCI

Zoe is a senior at Big Spring High School.  She is the Vice-President for the Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society) club, the Secretary for the Science National Honor Society club, the Future Farmers of America (FFA) club and the TEMPUS club.  Zoe is President of the Cumberland County 4-H Horse and Pony club, and has worked at the Animal Inn in Carlisle for over 2 years and at the Clothes Vine for over a year.  She loves to ride horses in her spare time.   Zoe has been accepted to Goucher College, Hollins University, Washington College and Allegheny College, and is waiting to hear from Swarthmore College, Lafayette College, Franklin and Marshall College, and Gettysburg College.  She would like to major in Biology and minor in Spanish, eventually going to Veterinary school.  Zoe is the daughter of Jennifer Marinacci.

FEBRUARY

MACKENZIE HERMAN

Mackenzie is a senior at Big Spring High School.  She is a member of the Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) club, the TEMPUS club (where she serves as President), the Key club and the National Honor Society.  She is also a member of the Lady Bulldogs softball team.  She loves spending time with her family and attending wrestling events.  Mackenzie plans to attend American University to obtain a degree in Business Administration, then enlist in the Air Force to become a pilot.  Mackenzie is the daughter of Lloyd and Kelly Herman, and the sister to Trevor and Kyle Herman.

JANUARY

PAIGE SNYDER

Paige is a senior at Big Spring High School.  Paige is a member of Club CARE, Big Brothers Big Sisters Club, the National Honor Society, the Yearbook Staff, and the Quill and Scroll Club.  She is a member of the Varsity Basketball team and previously played Field Hockey at Big Spring.  She is also a member of her Youth Group at church.  Following graduation, she hopes to attend Grove City College and major in Marketing.  Paige is the daughter of Shawn and Beth Snyder, and has a sister Haleigh.    

DECEMBER

​ANDREW KULP

Andrew is a senior at Big Spring High School.  He also attends Cumberland-Perry Vo-Tech School, but is currently obtaining work experience by co-operating at a local garage.  He will be attending Penn Tech College in the future, hoping to complete their 2-year program to become an Auto Technician.  He is also a member of the Royal Rangers and enjoys camping.    

NOVEMBER

MCKENZIE HENRY

McKenzie is a senior at Big Spring High School.  McKenzie just completed her senior year as a member of the Bulldog Girls Soccer team.  She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, a mathematics honor club at the high school.  She is also an intern at Holy Spirit Hospital.  In her spare time, McKenzie plays club soccer for a team in Carlisle, likes snowboarding, works at the pizza shop in Plainfield and has done some modeling.  McKenzie hopes to attend Lock Haven University to pursue a degree to eventually become a Physician’s Assistant in Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery.  McKenzie is the daughter of Mike and Heidi Henry, and has a sister Kyra.   

​OCTOBER

BAILEY AUCHEY

Bailey is a senior at Big Spring High School.  Bailey is a member of Club Cares, a service organization at the high school and has made 4 mission trips.  She is a member of the high school volleyball team.  Bailey hopes to attend Susquehanna University to pursue a degree in Finance.  Bailey is the daughter of Andrew and Kimberly Auchey.
