The Gift Of Sight Program

To Whom It May Concern,

Over these last challenging years, the Olean Lions Club has had unprecedented requests for financial support for eye exams and glasses from children and adults in our Olean community. These requests are attributed to the state of the economy for which there is no end in sight. The Olean Lions have been able to keep pace with these requests to this point, primarily through generous donations during our annual “Give The Gift Of Sight” holiday campaign.

The pandemic has been challenging for many and we are hopeful we can continue to meet the community needs. 

Please join the Olean Lions Club and their student affiliated Leo Club (Allegany-Limestone School) in helping those in our community gain the gift of better eyesight by participating and donating to our “Give The Gift Of Sight” holiday campaign. The holiday season is a time of light and hope for all to share. Your gift of any denomination helps us provide the necessary eye exams and eyeglasses to those in need.

The Lions Club International and it's local clubs, including Olean, help in many areas of need, but the defining program of the Lions Club has always been to improve and save sight. We also participated in many local events such as the Child Advocacy Center’s fundraiser.

Last year the Olean Lions Club was able to provide 45+ people with eyeglasses and/or exams. We also collected over 2,800 pair of glasses from the Olean community which will be refurbished and distributed to people around the world. It is a testament to our greater Olean community and their caring nature that we continue to meet these needs.
