Following the success of fundraising for the 6 First Responder Defibrillators and also raising the awareness and funds for the Honey Pot Charity in 2017-18.  The Lions club have focussed during July to October on raising funds for the UNICEF Shool in a box.  Working in partnership with indiviudals, schoold and organisations, the club has raised enough money to purchase 14 School in a Box. which was a fantti effort by all involved.

The Club continues to support the hostels and charities supporting the homeles and rough sleepers in South East Wales - but focusses its efforts on supporting those in Newport and the Eastern Valley.  Christmas gift bags were filled for the rough sleepers in Newport and were distributed via the Wallich.  Charities such as SOLAS, Salvation Army, SLS, TRAC2, Edentgate and the Wallich have all received gifts of Toiletries, food, clothes, hats, scarves, socks and gloves to distribut to those in need.  A big THANK YOU goes to Monmouth Comprehensive school who organised a collection of items on our behalf.  We had bags full of items to distribute.  The club continues it committment to provide 40 sandwich lunches every 2 months via SLS for distribution via Edengate.  We are grateful to all who donate items from local churches and schools to make this committemnt so successful.  Again Monmouth Comprehensive School support us with donations of Fruit, cakes, biscuits and sandwich packs.
