YOUR LOCAL LIONS CLUB, BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER

What is a Lion?  What does a Lion do?  Lions are "ordinary" people like you and me, who care about their community.  Lions are men and women, of any age, who want to serve their local community and help people in need through various service projects.

In 1917, Lions Club International was organized and it has become one of the largest and most active service clubs in the world with over 1.44 million members in 44,000 clubs within 200 countries.  Lions conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist youth, provide diabetes awareness programs, provide help in time of a disaster, and much more.

The Newport News Warwick Lions Club was chartered in July 1949 and have had a very active presence within the Tidewater community.  For many years, the Newport News Warwick Lions Club has been providing eye exams, eye glasses, hearing tests, helping to feed the hungry, hearing aids, seeing eye dogs for the blind and has financially contributed to other service organizations within our community.  The Newport News Warwick Lions are proud of the success we have achieved in a variety of projects both locally and international.  Although, we are small in number, our club continues to improve the quality of our community and those in need.

As a Lion, you will have the opportunity to help others, meet new people, and use your talents to make a real impact.  The Newport News Warwick Lions are fun loving, community spirited, and are looking for people like YOU to join our club.  Won't  you join us in making our community and world a better place?

Feel free to look around our webpage for the many activities that the Newport News Warwick Lions is involved to help our community along with people in need.
