The New Glarus Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays of each month from September through May. The normal meeting place is the New Glarus Hotel, with a social hour and meal served at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
New Glarus Lions Club was founded in 1941 and has a rich history of working toward goals set by community needs and the members of this club. Our main goals surround vision and eye care, as do the Lions International goals, but we are able to set goals that directly benefit our state and local community. Our vision screening services extend beyond New Glarus, to Belleville Schools and to local child care facilities. The screening is used for early detection of eye issues that, if not treated, could lead to more serious vision problems.
Members of the New Glarus Lions Club come from all walks of life, we live in and around New Glarus and Belleville. Our small community lifestyle and Swiss heritage leads to a very friendly atmosphere and close relationships. Our meetings and the services that we provide are set to embrace the growing diversity of our community.
Our community, citizens and businesses have all shown excellent support for the goals of our Lions Club. We understand the needs of our community because of your feedback and our members participate in community activities.
We value community participation in our projects and we are always looking for new members and their input. You do not have to be a member to participate in any of our community projects.
