Spot Vision Screenings

In September 2016, McKinleyville Lions members volunteered 103 hours providing free Spot vision screenings at Dow's Prairie Elementary, Morris Elementary and McKinleyville Middle School. A total of 1,012 children under the age of 13 were screened in a three day period with 93 of those requiring a referral to an optometrist.

Members also held fundraisers throughout 2016 to purchase their own Spot device. A total of $10,000 was raised in six months.
