Who Are The Las Vegas Diabetes Lions ?
The Las Vegas Diabetes Lions Club is the only Diabetes Lions Club in the world. It was founded in 2003 out of a great need to help serve the diabetic community of Southern Nevada as well as reach out to the diabetics throughout the world. Our Club is a network of medical professionals and other allied professionals throughout the community who are dedicated to our mission of serving our diabetic community. The Las Vegas Diabetes Lions Club (LVDLC) is part of Lions Club International, whose motto is "We Serve". Lions Club was founded in 1917 in Chicago , Illinois and is the biggest service organization in the world. With over 1.3 million members strong in 200 countries, we answer the needs that challenge the communities of the world. Lions tackle tough problems like blindness, drug abuse prevention and diabetes awareness. For nearly 90 years, whenever there is a need at home or around the world, Lions members are there to help. Our club, as an example brought diabetic supplies for those in need after Hurricane Katrina....so....WE SERVE.............................................
The mission of the LVDLC is to serve unselfishly and with pride the Diabetic Community. To conduct and support local and large scale efforts leading to the control and treatment fo diabetes and its complications through education, prevention, medical assistance, and research
We welcome you to join our club. In addition to the programs we provide for service to the community we also network, and socialize with other like minded individuals doing many fun activities including sporting events(such as the Wranglers, and 51's, and bowling ),movies, shows(such as mystere,Dixie Doolie Master Mystifier,Steve Wyrick,and Matsuri),Dinners, Dances,Karaoke,and much more.
