Meetings

       The Lions Club Lucknow Pratishtha has presently undertaken/ running the following two permanent projects-

(1)  ‘Rain Basera’- a hall constructed in the hospital premises for stay of poor people coming along with the indoor patients for treatment at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The hall was constructed out of L.C.I.F. aid of Rs 4 lac. Repair & maintenance work of this is done by Lions Pratishtha Club.

(2)  Lions Pratishtha Grah Udyog, Jeevan Plaza Complex, Vipul Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The details of this project are given hereunder.

                         With the primary objective of giving employment to poor and illiterate women and to provide pure spices, flour of wheat, gram, maize, bajra etc., pulses, pickles, chips, pappad etc. etc., Grah Udyog was initially started in the residence of Lion Kusum Seth in the year 2005-06. Later on O.N.G.C. (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.) sponsored the Udyog by giving an amount of Rs 5 lac. On receipt of this help, one shop was taken in Jeevan Plaza Complex, Vipul Khand , Gomti Nagar, Lucknow and 2 grinding machines (For wheat flour & Spices), one water tank for washing wheat. One three wheeler automobile was also purchased for home delivery as well as for carrying purchase of raw material from the market. One driver and a sales man were also employed to run the Udyog along with 3-4 women conversant with the desired work. In the year 2009, O.N.G.C. further given a help of Rs 5 lac and therafter two more shops were taken in the complex and work started more smoothly.

          The work of the Udyog is conducted & monitored strictly by a team consisting of 8 members out of which 6 are permanent (Ln Kusum Seth, Ln Pushpa Whohra, Ln Neena Singh, Ln Anurag Chandra, Ln Vineeta Mathur and Ln Meena Budhwar) and other 2 are ex-officio President and Secretary of Lions Club Pratishtha.

           Presently 6 poor people including 4 poor & illiterate women are in employment at the Udyog. An utmost priority is given for purity of the material and is sold on reasonable rates.
