Arkansas ranks first in the nation in senior hunger. Tomiko Townley, outreach manager of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, spoke to Little Rock Founders Lions yesterday. In the coming year DHS and the Hunger Relief Alliance hope to raise public awareness of the problems senior citizens face in having sufficient food. This also affects health and the economy. Ms. Townley gave out recipe cards, statistical information sheets, and reusable grocery bags at the end of her interesting presentation.

"Dr. Andrew Rogerson begins his tenure as the 10th Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
There’s a unique synergy that can be created when programs and research are interwoven into a growing community and economy, and my goal is to tap into that to help UALR reach its maximum potential."1
"Dr. Andrew Rogerson began his journey as the new chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Sept. 1.
Rogerson and his wife Janessa came to UALR from California, where Rogerson was provost and vice president of academic affairs at Sonoma State University, part of the California State University system.
A native of Scotland, Rogerson earned both an undergraduate honors degree in biology and a doctorate in protozoan ecology. He has been a professor, scholar, and senior administrator at leading universities in England, Canada, and the United States, including Marshall University and Fresno State."2
