• The March club meeting featured our traditional Con Beef and Cabbage St. Patrick's Day meal. And it was good! Thanks to Lion Ken McPherson and his crew. Visiting clubs from Chowchilla made the evening exciting concluding with the "borrowing" of our club gavel. Lion Prsident Bob Enochs presented a Melvin Jones Fellowship plaque and pin to Lion Ron Raines, who is running for 2nd Vice Ditrict Governor this spring.
• Club meetings will provide an opportunity to order or buy Lions printed shirts, hats and vests. Bring your checkbook or cash.
• The club Student Speaker Contest was the program for our Februay meeting. Le Grand High students presented excellent speeches on this year's topic: "How Do We Create and Keep Jobs in America?" Our winner was Berenise Gomez. She represented our club in the zone contest.
• In April we will receive the nominations for our club officers. In May we will have club elections and in July we will have our installation night meeting at the American Legion Hall in Le Grand. No meeting is held in June, due to the activity of our many members at our local fairs.
