Mission Statement
The Lawton Noon Lions Club supports students at our local university (Cameron) through its scholarship program. The scholarships will be awarded to those individuals considered by the Scholarship Committee to be most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities.
Eligibility Requirements
Students planning to attend Cameron University in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. Lawton Noon Lions and their family members are not eligible.
Criteria for Scholarship Selection
The scholarship will be awarded to that individual considered by the Scholarship Committee to be the most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities.
Preferences
Historically, Lions Clubs have had a particularly strong commitment to assisting the visually impaired and promoting visual health and research. Visually impaired students and students planning careers in optometry or related fields will be given preference, but all students are encouraged to apply.
Amount of Award: $6,000
The scholarship award consists of $1,500 per year for four years. Recipient must maintain full-time student status and a 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is funded by investments in our Lawton Noon Lions Club/Lawton Community Foundation account and is contingent upon availability of funds.
