Conflict in the Ukraine

Lions Clubs International Foundation has sent $15,000 to Lions Clubs in both Poland and Romania who are working to help and assist refugees and displaced persons from this conflict. LCIF staff are working with Lions Clubs in these countries to further develop help, support and care packages to include food water, hygiene items and clothing.

Lancing & Sompting Lions Club welcome financial donations, cash or cheques, to support this project. Cheques should be made payable to Lancing & Sompting Lions Club. All donations, 100%,  will go to Lions Cub International  Foundation and onwards to local Lions Clubs in Poland and Romania to support the displaced persons and refugees from this conflict.

Coronavirus   Covid-19      Vaccination

Our local GP's got together and created a vaccination centre at Lancing Parish Hall staffed by NHS workers and lots of other volunteers including one or two Lions. Many Lancing and Sompting residents have and are being vacinated there.                                                    Local business stepped in to provide midday meals and the Lions are covering the costs.

Please continue to follow the the government guide lines.

Stay safe.

Santa News

Father Christmas with his Sleigh and escort toured the streets of Lancing and Sompting this year but things were a little different from previous years, no knocking on doors, no sweets or pressies for the kids and Covid-19 precautions taken.

Congratulations

Two young people, Owen Thomas and Jamie Hull, who were supported by the Lions, attended Buckingham Palace where they received Duke of Edinburgh Gold  awards.

Find out what we do, how we go about fundraising and where you might fit into the Club.

There are two Lions Charity Shops in Lancing, both in Station Parade opposite the signal box. A wide  range of goods - clothing, shoes & bags, bric-a-brac and CD/DVDs in the first and good quality furniture, soft furnishings and electrical items in the other.

In season we stock a wide range of well-established plants from a local nursery.

Lancing & Sompting Lions Club was established over thirty years ago. In that period many people and groups have benefited from the support given.  The Lions motto is 'We Serve'.

We support the elderly by giving a Christmas party, a summer cream tea, school children have been supported in their trips abroad, books and other materials. Young adults by grants and backing for a variety of activities. We provide nebulisers on a doctors prescription, hampers for the needy and collect spectacles for refurbishment for developing countries. The Lancing and Sompting Food Bank is supported and we have food donation points in our shop and hall.

We provide an escort and assistance to Santa and his Sleigh when he tours Lancing and Sompting.
