American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) travels the USA with the Cost of Freedom Tribute to provide a forum for the members of the community to come together to Honor-Respect-Remember all those whom we have asked to stand in harm’s way to protect and defend our great country and freedom as our way of life. The AVTT Exhibit-American Veterans Traveling Tribute-will be on display in Lakeway on the Lake Travis high school football field from May 12-16. This exhibit honors all of America's veterans from current conflicts back through the World Wars. It is an honor for Lakeway to get to host the AVTT in our community. You can see details of the AVTT at www.AVTT.org . The main program will be Saturday and Sunday May 15 and 16. May 13th and 14th, the intention will be to have all Lakeway school children visit the exhibit to see that freedom is not free. Lake Travis Lions Club will serve as host for the period Friday, May 14, 8:00 am until Saturday 8:00 AM. Our duties will be to assist visitors with computers on site to locate names on the exhibit and be present during our 24 hour period. I would like to have 15-20 volunteers from our club. Spouses are more than welcome to assist. We currently have a volunteer reception planned at the activity center one evening and a reception at the Hills country club over the week end. Overall-this will be a memorable event for Lakeway in 2010. Please let me know if you will be able to help as I need to start putting together a schedule for the 14th. Thanks much, Lion Alton
