Kasson-Mantorville Lions

Club Projects

The K-M Lions serve our communities with numerous service projects and contributions to local causes.  We regularly contribute funds raised to the Dodge County Food Shelf, Festival in the Park, Dodge County Relay for Life, the K-M Area Care & Share, the Kasson Library, the Dodge County Salvation Army, the Dodge County Historical Society, scholarships for K-M graduating seniors, and other local causes.

In addition to supporting local projects, the K-M Lions are regular contributors to Lions programs.  These include Lions Leader Dog for the Blind, the Minnesota Lions Vision Foundation, the Minnesota Hearing Foundation, Minnesota Diabetes Foundation, Can Do Canines, Disaster Relief Programs, Project New Hope for Veterans, Special Olympics, and other Lion causes.

Over our 40 years, we have served our communities by: planting trees in city parks, providing park benches, cleaning up a section of road ditches, delivering meals on wheels, doing vision screening for pre-school children, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, sponsoring a Peace Poster Contest for middle school students, providing scholarships for some school trips, delivering sand for children’s sandboxes and other service projects.

To raise funds to support programs and projects, the K-M Lions have operated food stands at Festival in the Park and Marigold Days for many years.  For about ten years, we have also conducted the “Fly the Flag” program.  For an annual fee, we put up a U.S. flag at a residence for five holidays from May through September.  We have also run successful scrap metal drives for years to raise money and help residents dispose of unwanted junk.

In recognition of the Lions service to our community, the Festival in the Park Committee made the K-M Lions the grand marshals of the 2021 Festival in the Park Parade.
