The Kalamazoo Westside Lions Club working on a service project in Bronson Park.

Our club was chartered on May 15th, 2002.  We currently have 30 members.  We are a part of District 11 B-2 which encompasses southwest Michigan (Van Buren, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph and Kalamazoo counties). We are in Zone 2, which encompasses KalHaven, Kalamazoo Westside, Lawrence, Paw Paw, Mattawan and Lawton Lions Clubs.

We help support:  Leader Dogs for the Blind, Eversight, Lions Club International Foundation,  Lions of Michigan Service Foundation, All State Band, Diabetes Foundation, Bear Lake Camp and Project KidSight.

We purchase eyglasses and hearing aids, and help with cataract surgery, for people who are in need, and live in zip code 49009 and 49077 (Oshtemo).  If you live in a different zip code, you may look up the lions club in your area on the internet.  Non U.S. citizens must contact their country of origin.  An application form needs to be filled out to determine need.  Please contact Bill Dill (phone 269-427-7869), or email, for a form. (The forms cannot be emailed, but will be sent in the mail.) If you are approved, we will pay $95.00 towards the purchase of eyeglasses.

We are not federally funded, and have limited funds.  The eyeglasses that we collect go to help people in third world countries. Please put used hearing aids in our eyeglass boxes also.  Please click on our Club Projects page to see where our eyeglass boxes are located.

Our next meeting will be a regular meeting on Thursday, April 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Oshtemo Community Center.
