The Irondequoit Lions Club has had a busy start to the new year of 2017.

They recently completed their major fund raiser of their placemat which is used at Keenans Restaurant during the week of St. Patricks Day.  Local businesses supported the club with the purchase of an ad on the placemat. 3 separate placemats were generated with all the ads.

The members are working on their 59th. annual Easter Egg Hunt which will be held on Saturday April 4th. at Camp Eastman beginning at 9:00 am sharp. Several thousand flyers are being distributed to the area elementary schools. The Easter egg hunt usually attracts approximately 300-500 children depending on the weather. Continental breakfast items are available for a nominal charge and there will be special appearance by the "Easter bunny."

Applications for the annual Dr. Robert M. Santo Irondequoit Lions Club Memorial Scholarhip have been distributed to the 3 town high schools. Applicants must be a resident of the town, attending one of the high schools. This project has been ongoing since 1997. Lion secretary Bev Bloss is the contact person to the schools. Deadline for the applications is April 15th.

The club has recently purchased beep baseballs for the Upcoming World Series of Beep Baseball which will be held here in Rochester July 26-August 1st. and also plan on volunteering their time at the games.

Members continue to support the Irondequoit Community Cupboard which non perishable food items which are collected at their second  meeting of the month. The ICC, like other food cupboards is experiencing an increase in requests for help and the members have been generous with their donations.
