Eyeglass Collection

The Club delivered about 200 used eyeglasses and cases in May to the New England College of Optometry in Boston. The delivery included a large number of labeled and packaged lenses that had been given to Ed Sartelle from a retiring optometrist. Richard Berman has taken over the collecting and delivering of the eyeglasses, previously handled by Billy O'Donnell. We currently have 8 collection sites, two of which are new. The sites are the two Hull post offices, the Hull and Cohasset senior centers, Hull Public Library, Village Market, Hull Rockland Trust office and Hull's Nantasket Eye Care Associates. Two different student groups at NECO recondition and categorize the eyeglasses and use them with under-served populations. Members are encouraged and welcome to thank the merchants and businesses that support us in this collection program.
