Who are the Highland Heights, Ohio Lions?

We have proudly served the Highland Heights, Ohio, community for over 50 years! 2020 also marked the 100th year of Lions Clubs in Ohio!
Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it. That's because we help where help is needed. In short, We Serve.
Here are some of our activities, and some of the ways we've used the funds we raise:
  • Collected, counted and sorted thousands of pairs of used eyeglasses
  • Supported the early intervention program at MCHI (Millridge Center for the Hearing Impaired)
  • Purchased equipment to aid hearing impaired kids at MCHI
  • Donated for hurricane relief
  • Support the Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center through the Cleveland Sight Center
  • Supported Juvenile Diabetes research and provided scholarships for children in the Mayfield Schools so they could attend Camp Ho Mita Koda. Learn more about the camp here: https://www.camphomitakoda.org/
  • Supported the Pilot Dogs of Ohio program https://www.pilotdogs.org/
  • We also support the Our Savior Hillcrest Foodbank.
  • Help kids at Mayfield Schools that are in need of repair or replacement of their glasses, or eye exams. Special thanks to our partner, For Your Eyes Only Optometry and Opticians in Willoughby, for providng these services.

Our 2021 Clam Bake was an incredible event especially when you account for Covid19!. We carefully evaluate where the money will be used, and look forward to our ongoing support to the Millridge Center for the Hearing Impaired, Mayfield Schools, Camp Ho Mita Kota and other organizations that embrace our initiatives and serve our community.

In 2018, through the generosity of our sponsors and guests at our Highland Heights Lions Club clambake fundraiser, we were able to donate $2200 to the Early Intervention program at Millridge Center for the Hearing Impaired . Particularly, we were very happy to support two toddlers with serious hearing impairments.

Here are our 2021 Clam Bake sponsors. Thank you all, and we hope to receive your support again in 2023. Any individual, organization or business interested in sponsoring the Clam Bake, should contact Earl Cohen, ecohen2061@gmail.com
