Meetings

The Greene Lions Club is one of the largest and most productive Clubs in the Central NY area. For a club in a relatively small community, we pride our selves on being very active in recruiting new members.

We believe in making our meetings fun, and follow the belief that adhering to the principles of Lionism, doesn't mean that meetings need be long or boring. We are a mixture of all age groups. We have a number of members with over 40 years of membership, and have also a number of members under 35 years of age.

Below is a list of items of importance in understanding exactly who we are and what we are about:

The Greene Lions Club owns and operates a 40 Acre Community Park, with two Little League fields, several soccer fields, and a  running/walking track. This facility is managed and cared for, entirely by local members. It is available for use by the community at no cost, and private parties at a minimal cost. Reunions, Weddings, Birthday parties... etc... all can be found in our park pavilion.

Thousands of Greene youth have come through our little league program over the years. Each year, over 100 local children get their first opportunity to play organized baseball in our program.

Like most Lion groups, our Club supports eye care requirements for this in need. We work closely with local eye care professionals and our school to make this program effective.

Among our Fund raisers :

1. The annual  Rubber Duck Race on Labor Day.

2. Father's Day Breakfast (pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee). This is cooked and served at our Park by member Lions.

3.  At the Greene Apple Fest, we cook & sell BBQ chicken at the Ball Flats park in Greene..

4. The Louis Barton Memorial  golf tournament is held in memory of recently deceased Lion of 47 years service.

Greene Lions currently has 57 members.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
