The Granbury Lions Club is affiliated with Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club organization with over 1.3 million members in 206 countries and geographical areas1. Since 1925, when Helen Keller spoke to its international convention, Lions' principal charities have benefited the blind or visually impaired in the U.S. and throughout the world.
Local Community Service Projects
GLASSES FOR NEEDY KIDS - We pay for eye examinations and glasses for qualified grade school students.
SCHOLARSHIPS - We award annually several $1,000 scholarships for worthy graduates of Granbury, Tolar, and Lipan high schools.
ATTENDANCE RECOGNITION - Every six weeks we recognize grade school students who have perfect attendance with no tardy with a certificate and pizza provided in cooperation with H&H Printing, CC's Pizza and Joe's Pizza & Pasta. Those who attain perfect attendance for the school year receive a certificate and 'gold' dollar.
PANCAKE FEEDS - We cook and serve our famous pancakes for various county wide events such as the Relay for Life, the Junior Livestock Show, and when requested by an array of organizations.
EYEGLASS RECYCLING - We collect and deliver used glasses to the Lions Club Recycling Center in Fort Worth. (click here for Hood County collection locations)
