GARDEN CITY LIONS CLUB
The Garden City Lions Club,chartered in 1956,is part of Michigan's Lions District 11-A-1,comprising of Wayne and Monroe Counties.From its begining the club has been a leader in the state,both for its support of Lions projects,and for leadership of Lionism.
FUND RAISERS-SERVICE PROJECTS
Club fund raisers such as our White Cane Sales,Candy Cane Christmas Sale,and our Pancake Breakfast support official Lions Projects and other service activities in our community. Lions Clubs International provides funds for worldwide humanitarian projects.The Lions state projects are: Leader Dog for the Blind,Welcome Home for the Blind and Michigan Eye Bank.Some of our district projects are:Beaumont Hospital Silent Children Fund and Penrickton Center for Multiple-Handicapped Blind Children.Some of our community projects we have supported are:Garden City United Needy Family Fund,Garden City High School Scholarships,Garden City Youth Athletic Association,City Police and Fire Departments and Garden City Library.We also provide needy persons in the community assistance with their eye exams,glasses or hearing aids.
