Gander Lions Club - Lions e-Clubhouse

At the regular meeting of the Gander Lions Club on Wednesday March 16^th, 2011 Lions gathered to make a $15,000.00 donation to Ronald McDonald House in St. John’s.

The Gander Lions Club recognizes the importance of a faculity such as Ronald McDonald House in providing an affordable place for parents who have a child receiving treatment at the Janeway Childrens Hospital to stay. This donation from the Gander Lions Club was made possible because of our continued partnership with the Gander Co-op and their 50/50 program. We, the Gander Lions wish to take this opportunity to thank the Gander Co-op and all members who support the 50/50 draw program to allow us to make this donation.

On February 11th, 2011 the Gander Lions Club held their Annual Charter Night and Awards Banquet. At that time Lions were presented with Awards for their service to the Community during the previous Lions Year. Major Award Winners were Lion Andrew Charlton who was made a Melvin Jones Fellow. This award is the Highest International Award and was presented to Andrew for his dedication to Lionism and the Community. Lion Joyce Burry was presented with a Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship which is the Highest Canadian Award. Lion Joyce received this award for her long-standing service to Lions. Lion Clare Dwyer was selected by King Lion Ray Jones as the Lion of the Year for her service to the Gander Lions Club during the 2009-2010 Lions Year.
