SERVING GANANOQUE AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY SINCE 1939
2017 marks Lions Club International's 100 Years of Community Service
To mark this momentous milestone, The Gananoque Lions Club has
proposed a major Project:
A Lions Centennial Park including Lions Benches, Picnic Tables
and a future Picnic Shelter
President Doug Charboneau
Hello: It is an honour for me to be a proud member of the Gananoque Lions Club, I hope that I can match the Past President's terms and fulfillmets. This year I hope to see through to it's completion the Water Accessible Ramp at Joel Stone Park and the Lions Centennial Park Project at our new Lions Park. The Suzi-Push revamping will be on going through out the year as well. We can only hope that next year's Car Show and Ribfest will be as good OR better than this past year. Pump-Gan-Fest seems to be on line to be better than ever. These Events are our Annual Events so when they get better every year, our Members along with myself, feel really proud of what we have accomplished. President Doug Charboneau
See what we have been up to this year
With 46,000 clubs and 1.4 million members in over 200 countries, the Lions Club is the world's largest service club organization. Founded in 1917, the Lions Club is perhaps best known for fighting blindness,
Yet club members also work to feed the hungry, aid seniors and the disabled, and care for the environment. Lions are a global service network of volunteers that make a difference in their local communities. The club motto is “Where There's a NEED, There's a LION.”
A ROAR OUT TO OUR COMMUNITY
The Gananoque Lions Club sends a Huge thank you to our community that attended our main fundraising opportunities, donated towards our Lions Events and volunteered a helping hand throughout the year Our three main fundraising activities include The Gananoque Lions Club Cruise-in, The 1000 Island Family Ribfest and our Bingo evenings at The Community Spirit Centre.
We want you to know that 100% of the funds raised go to deserving groups, organizations and individuals. So far since September 2016 and February 2017 the Club has donated approximately $10.000. We will keep this figure up on a regular basis to let you know what we have been supporting our community financially.
