After a year of reorganizing, we are looking to bring back this program even better than before in October of 2021. Returning to our original focus of teaching students about community and service. Stay tuned.
Magician Mr. Fran
Pride Kids had a fun time when the Magician Mr. Fran showed up with his bag of tricks. The kids were amazed by disappearing rabbits and magic bells. A good time was had by all.
Februrary 15th Pride Recognition
60th District 33K Mid-Winter Conference
Pride was recognized at the District Mid-Winter conference for the good work we are doing helping the community through our young children. Several pride members showed up for the ceremony. We helped fill blessing bags that will be distributed to homeless shelters throughout the area. A big thankyou to all who participated.
Februrary 6th meeting
Fireman Bill
Pride Kids had a visit from Fireman Bill (Medfield FD) learned about fire safety and planning, and of course, Miss Cheryl was asked to demonstrate the Stop, Drop and Roll maneuver. She also looked great in the fire suit!! Tryin Lion fun was shared and passed on.
January 23th meeting
Today was an exciting day for the Franklin Lions Pride Program! Dave Marchetti, from Animal Experiences came to visit with his very friendly reptiles and small animals. The kids had a great experience as the pictures show! See Dave on his Facebook page: www.bestanimalexperiencesbydave.com
December 20th meeting
Franklin Lions Pride Kids raised $200 and collected over 100 New toys for Toys for Tots for Franklin Police. Great job, kids. Great mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and Christmas cookies provided by Aliquot catering served by Mr. Stefan Girgenrath of Medway. Thanks Miss Judy, reporter for Franklin Local Town paper. The December 5th meeting, the children made ornaments for their trees, as well as, making cards for the Troops!
For our last meeting in November we collected 110 pounds of food for the Franklin Food Pantry. Sue Kilcoyne came to collect the food and talk to the kids on what the food pantry does for the community.
The children learned how giving and giving thanks is important not only during the holidays, but year round. They colored pictures and I asked them to give each one to the person they felt they wanted to give thanks to. They each stood in front of the group and they said what they were thankful for.
The kids made pictures to send to those serving our country for veterns day.
The pictures were delivered to the VFW post here in Franklin. We kicked off our toy drive and we have already collected some great toys:
