Thank you to the 55 patriotic participants in the Franklin MA bike parade.  It was a huge success.  Thank you to Ruby’s ice cream truck for donating popsicles to the children and thank you to Sloan Realty for their donation towards our prizes.  Please visit the photo gallary for more pictures.

Upcoming Events 

We are getting ready for our next fundraiser.  Help us raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.   Lots of exciting items to bid on.  Secure your ticket for our silent auction Bid it to Win it, October 19 at La Cantina.  Pre-purchased tickets are $10.00, if you wait they will be $20.00 at the door.  There are a limited number of tickets available so don’t wait too long!

Franklin MA Lions Club received their certificate for Best Small Club of District 33K at 4th Advisory Meeting held at Boston Lodge #10, West Roxbury.  Congratulations, Franklin MA Lions.

June Meeting

Our June meeting was the end of the year dinner for Franklin MA Lions at the Alumni Restaurant. Guest for meeting was District Governor Deb Hayes.  Two new members were inducted into Franklin MA Lions by DG Deb Hayes, welcome to Victoria Strand and Leslie Phelan.  Big thank you to DG Deb Hayes for all your support this past year. Also, installation of officers for year 2019-2020 with Kristine Shanahan President, Erin Henderson-Treasurer, Jan McKernan-Markoff-Secretary, Carol LaValley-First Vice-President, Cheryl Hobbs-Tail Twister, Virginia Brennan and David Hobbs-Marketing and Maureen Webber-LCIF.  Congratulations!!!!

May meeting

At the Franklin MA Lions Club dinner meeting held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, drawing for Date Night Basket held and winner is Kathy Horigan, Sherborne Lions Clubmember.  Club welcomes Mel and Mary Ligon who were inducted by President Kristine Shanahan to the Club and Cheryl Hobbs as their Sponsor!  Also, thank you to Al Bozza, Norfolk Lions member, and Diabetes Chairperson for District 33K for an update on District diabetic initiative.

ELLI Training for Emerging Lions held in Milford

Congratulations to Franklin Lion Cheryl, as she has completed the ELLI Training for Emerging Lions! April 26th-28th , she completed 21 hours of classes in Milford. 20 others completed the course with her, all from different districts.

3rd District Advisor meeting was held on March 25th at the Coachmen's Lodge in Bellingham.  Several members of the Franklin club attended.  We learned about the many projects lion clubs across the district were participating in.  Our own lion Cheryl Hobbs received the District Governor's Appreciation Award for her commitment to the development of the Pride Program in partnership with the Franklin MA Lions Club.  Congratulations to Lion Cheryl on her good work.

GLT District Chair Pat Kalicki inducted two new members into our club.  If you or somebody you know would like to join with us in helping out our community please contact us or stop by our next meeting and join in the fun.
