CHANCELLOR BOB CORLEW
Chancellor Bob Corlew, from Milton, Tennessee, USA, was elected to serve as president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 99th International Convention held in Fukuoka, Japan, June 24 through 28, 2016.
President Corlew is retired as chancellor for the State of Tennessee and a professor of law.
A member of the Murfreesboro Noon Lions Club since 1978, he has held many offices within the association, including charter club president, zone chairperson, district governor, cabinet secretary and council chairperson. He has been instrumental in the chartering of a number of new clubs. Most recently, he worked to charter a new club comprised of lawyers and judges, which gained more than 75 members during its first year.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards, including the Leadership Award, the Builder Key Award, three International President's Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Vanguard of the Melvin Jones Memorial, a Progressive Lindsey-Jennings Fellow and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, President Corlew has been active in the Boy Scouts of America, the Jaycees and the American Red Cross. He has also served as a councilman in Milton and was a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve.

PMJF. Ln. Joy Thomas son of late P.J. Thomas and Mariyamma Thomas belongs to Powath family of Kumarakom. After his school and college education in Kottayam he had his higher studies at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. And then he worked in London for a period. He returned to India thereafter and started his own Jewellery business at Kumarakom. His business has solwly expanded and today he has branches of Powath Jewellery at Ettumanoor, Pandalom and Adoor.
He joined lionism in 2003 as the Charter Treasurer of Lions Club of Kumarakom, a post which he held for 3 consecutive years. He took over the mantel of leadership of his Club during the year 2006-07. After the successful completion of presidentship, he became District Chairperson for Cultural Competition, Zone Chairperson, Region Chairperson, District Chairperson for Membership, District Cabinet Secretary, Counsellor and Chief Project Co-ordinator.
He is recipient of many lionistic awards such as Best Treasurer Appreciation Award, Five Stat Excellence Award as President, Best District Chairperson, Zone Chairperson and Region Chairperson Award of District and Multiple Best District Cabinet Secretary Award of Multiple District, International Presidents Certificate of Appreciation 8 times and International Presidents Leadership Medal and Gold Medal. PMJF. Ln. Joy Thomas is a graduate of Senior Lions Leadership institute at Colombo. He was the Kala Pratibha of our District continuously for three years.

He is married to PMJF. Ln. Aswathy Joy who was Lioness District President 2012-13. The couple is blessed with a son and two daughters and all of them are students.
