Meetings

"WE SERVE" perfectly exemplifies the dedication to helping those in need felt by Lions worldwide.  Our own club, founded in 1992 has a membership of over 20 women.  The community's support has allowed us to provide financial aid to groups and individuals to meet their needs, whether it be in the area of personal medical assistance or strengthening organizations that support our youth, our seniors, the visually impaired, or our Health Centre, to name a few.

Members of the Trillium Lions Club give countless hours of service to our community by actively supporting organizations and events such as Meals on Wheels, Patricia Gardens birthday parties, Grace Haven Festival of Trees, City of Dryden Winter Festival, Canadian Blood Services, Dryden Diabetes Centre, CNIB Eye Van, Dryden Food Bank and Christmas Cheer.  We visit and promote National Flag Day in all Dryden elementary schools and have initiated a Lions District-wide project to raise funds to provide transportation to the CNIB Lake Joseph Summer Camp for blind and visually impaired children, youth and adults living in Northwestern Ontario.

General Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Best Western Plus Dryden Hotel & Conference Hotel.  Meetings consist of a social time beginning at 5:30, dinner at 6:00 and our more formal meeting from 6:45 to approximately 8:00.

Activities include a number of fundraisers such as pancake breakfasts, bake sales, and an annual truck and boat draw in order to support Lions Programs as well as local and regional charities.  We provide services and support community endeavours and needs as follows:

  • Programs:
    • ‚ÄčAdult Medical Assistance Fund
    • Pennies from Heaven Fund to support medical needs of children
  • Services to the community
    • Delivering Meals on Wheels one weekend per month
