QUESTIONS ABOUT GLASSES
There has been an increase in questions to this web page regarding eye health and glasses. The Danbury Lions helps Danbury residents who meet specific criteria. Please take a look under the section on the left labeled "Club Projects" for answers to some of your questions.
CALLING ALL DRIVERS
Drivers are needed on the fourth Monday of each month to bring low vision seniors to the Low Vision Meetings. Meetings take place at the Danbury Senior Center at 1 pm. You would pick someone up, drive them, stay for the meeting (and donuts) and then bring that person home. Any questions or to volunteer, please call Lion Joan Stietzel.

Vision Masters Mini Golf Tournament
Join the Abbott Tech Leo Club and their Lions Club friends for an afternoon of mini-golf. All ages are welcome!
Where: La Promesa Restaurant, 540 Federal Road in Brookfield
When: Saturday, May 18 from 12 noon to 3 pm - rain date Sunday, May 19.
What: This is a fundraiser for CLERF: Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation
Cost: $20/golfer: includes golf, food and beverage, snacks, a door prize ticket, and a bandana
Create a team of 2 to 4 players, come up with a team name and team colors, and join the fun! It will be a “scramble” format. (Solo players will be put on a team)
- When you register, choose your tee time (noon or 1:30.)
- While golfing, you will have the opportunity to “earn” additional door prize tickets for a hole in one, best team “uniform,” best team name, blind golfer, and other totally-made-up-on-the-fly awards!
- Grab a bite to eat before or after your tee time, and finish the afternoon with some cotton candy or popcorn.
If you are not a golfer, come play corn hole, try out some sports equipment for the blind, meet a guide dog, learn about how the Lions help with KidSight in your school, get your face painted, and grab some cotton candy. Donations accepted.
La Promesa is open for business and the food is yummy!
If you would like to help sponsor this event, tee sponsorships are $40.
You can combine golfing and sponsoring by rounding up your foursome to $100.
For more information about the event or to learn about becoming a sponsor, contact
sally.markiewicz@gmail.com or abbottleoclub@gmail.com
Fun fact: “scramble” means every group starts at a different hole!
