The Duck Race is a major fundraiser for the Dallas Lions Club.  Merchants and sponsors are contacted in the spring to offer gifts and prizes for winners.  Duck Race tickets are sold to the public which are aligned with corresponding plastic ducks.

On the day of the event ducks are floated from the Levens Street Bridge and collected at the Main Street Bridge. Each year the sales of "ducks" have increased.  Proceeds are dedicated to a high school scholarship and support other community activities.
