WHO ARE THE CONNEAUT LIONS?
We are your friends, family members and neighbors who volunteer to help the visually impaired, as well as other area residents or organizations in need of our help. We also help fund groups who do eye research, train Pilot Dogs, and support Lions Clubs in their service of others throughout the world.
We have proudly served the Conneaut area since 1944!
Though we come from many different walks of life, we Lions share a common goal--serving others.
In fact, our motto is
"WE SERVE"
WHAT HAVE WE DONE RECENTLY:
- Held Safety Town every year for a LONG time; in fact, this year was our 56th ANNIVERSARY!
- Provided Optic Plus Screening to Safety Town participants
- Arranged eye exams for local residents and helped pay for eyeglasses
- Provided a graduating senior from Conneaut High School scholarship for college
- Worked with the Conneaut Elks Lodge #256 to hold a dinner honoring our Conneaut Police Department, presenting each officer with an award recognizing his or her service
And in May of this year, we contributed $2,500 to
- Lions Eye Program at St. Vincent Hospital
- Ohio Lions Foundation
- Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation
- Pilot Dogs Inc.
- Lions Clubs International Foundation
- Camp Ho Mita Koda (a Lions camp for kids with juvenile diabetes)
- Lions Hearing Aid Program
