Diabetic Friends Group

We are holding our meetings of diabetic friends group in the town at St Mary's Parish Centre Church  West Street. The aim of this group is for anyone who wants to know more about diabetes to meet and share ideas and experiances along with friendship.  Everyone is welcome and it's free. Brass Band Concert

We will once again be holding our annual Lions Youth Brass band concert in Congleton Park on  Sunday 2nd July 2023 starting at 2.30pm following our very sucessful concert last year. Lions Youth Brass have been national youth brass band champions and also held many other awards.  

Annual Duck Race

We are planning to held  our very sucesful 11th annual duck race in 2023. The ducks have their training schedule in place and of course. We welcome corporate sponsors of the large ducks, decorate them in your corporate colurs. It's not too early to register your interest.

Santa Astbury Garden Centre 

Once again this year we will be assisting Father Christmas at Astbury Garden centre. Plans are underway for this years grotto and we are pleased to say that we have been able to ensure that Santa will be comming to Astbury Garden Centre again. Check times and dates nearer the time.

East Cheshire Eye Society 

We are currently sponsoring the Congleton group of the East Cheshire Eye Society who meet at the New Life Church

Dementia

We work closley with the dementia group in the town and supply dementia buddy devices. 

Collection and Recycleing of Preloved Spectacles 

We are recycling preloved spectacles and hearing aids, you can drop them off at The information Centre, Thompson Optometrists, Specsavers and The Old Saw Mill. 

Instalation of fully Accesable Defibriltators

We have already installed 8 fully emergenct ready defibrilators in the town. currently we have others in the pipeline. We are continuing with our resucitation and defibrillator awareness sessions in the town.

Future Plans

We will be attending the Green Fayre on Saturday 30th September and collecting and recycling seoctacles and hearing aids.  We welcome any soft toys that you no longer require, they will be reused.  As well demonstrating the dementia buddy system and message in a bottle. We are also leading the resucitation and defibrilator awareness at the event.  We are also attening the Congleton half marathon and again we will be carrying out resucitation and defibrilator awareness at the event.
