WELCOME TO THE COLUMBUS, NC -  LIONS WEBSITE

Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion. Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Our 1.4 million members perform valuable service in 210 countries and geographic areas around the globe. Lions are friends, family and neighbors who share a core belief: community is what we make it.

Our club is located in COLUMBUS, NC, which is in the foothills of Western North Carolina.  We serve the Columbus and Tryon area   We are part of Zone 8 in District 31-L, the Western District of NC.  The rest of our zone is made up of the other clubs in our locality including Rutherfordton, Lake Lure, Chase,Lawndale, Shelby and Kings Mountain.

Our regular club meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at the Calvert’s Kitchen, E. Main, Columbus..   The meetings include a meal, a business meeting, and usually a guest speaker.

Membership is open to anyone who is at least 18 years old, of good moral character, and committed to the work, ideals, and Code of Ethics of the Lions.  Each member must be sponsored by an active member and approved by the membership.  Following the application and approval process, a candidate is asked to join the organization.

The dues for the Columbus Lions Club are $66 per year, which cover the cost of administrative expenses such as district, state, and international dues.  Donations to our club by the general public are used exclusively on our charitable operations.
