Proudly serving our community since 1982

The members in our club and Lions Clubs International strive to meet the needs of our community and around the world.  Ranging from assisting the blind/visually impaired, working with local youth to medical missions and disaster relief.

Made a difference in the past, today or ready for tomorrow. Some of the projects we have done over the years and we continue doing.

  • We have in coordination with the RCMP, we have provided Child Find Kits and assist with the fingerprinting of children.
  • Challenging students in the Cole Harbour area with Speak Out, Peace Poster, and Drug Awareness Contests.
  • Dreams Take Flight – Over the years, we have sponsored nearly 40 underprivileged children in our community on trips of a lifetime to Disney World, Florida.
  • Each year we provide scholarships to the high school students in our area.
  • We collect used eye glasses for people in other parts of the world.
  • We do install of Northwood Intouch Personal Emergency Response Systems.
  • We have sponsored Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides to assist Canadians with a wide range of disabilities.
  • We provide assistance to local food banks, other charitable organizations and families in our community who are in need.
  • Our club contributes to the purchase of hospital equipment, such as the Nova Scotia Eye Centre in Halifax.
  • We also provided Christmas Hampers for needy families, Feeding Tube for a young child, Kids Help Phone, Walter Callow Wheelchair Fund, and assistance with specialized vehicle for junior high student.
