 Easter Egg Hunts

In the Spring the Churchville Lions Club holds an Easter Egg hunts, where sight impaired children, and their siblings, hunt for "Beeping Eggs" that are especially made by our members for these egg hunts.

Summer Picnic

A picnic is held in the early summer for the blind children of Harford County, which features sack races and other games.

Farm Visitation

In the Fall a farm visitation for the Harford County blind children is hosted by the Churchville Lions.  The children interact with farm animals and experience the sounds, smells and touches of a farm.  At "Making Strides" the kids were able to ride the horses.  At "Strawberry Hill Dairy Farm" the kids were able to experience a 4-H cow named Lima.  Additionally, the children visited the barns and stables and learned about the care of the farm animals.  The children enjoyed ice cream at "Brooms Bloom Dairy" and played with a baby lamb and piglet.

Lions at the Lanes

The Churchville Lions Club sponsored the first "Lions at the Lanes" bowling outing on December 8, 2010.  This private event, run by the teachers at Church Creek Elementary, gave select Harford County sight impaired and blind children the opportunity to bowl at Forest Hill Lanes. Everyone had a great time, so much so, that this event will probably be held each year!

Breakfast With Santa

Around Christmas time, the Churchville Lions Club holds a Breakfast with Santa for blind children and their families.  This past year, the breakfast was held at the Red Brick Station in White Marsh.  Families enjoyed sitting together, eating breakfast and enjoying the festivities!  Parents with blind and sighted children, brothers, sisters, and friends waited their turn to visit with Santa.  All the children received a goody bag from Santa, with the blind children receiving a book in Braille.  Many thanks to the teachers at Church Creek Elementary who helped to keep the day running smoothly.
