Centre Lions Club
87th Year of Making a Difference!
The Centre Lions Club was founded on February 25, 1938, by individuals dedicated to supporting their community. Inspired by Helen Keller’s challenge to be “knights of the blind,” the club has been making an impact for 87 years.
While passionate about sight, we also provide scholarships, Christmas shopping events for children, trips to diabetic camp, and eye exams and glasses for those in need. We appreciate the kind businesses and patrons who support our Pancake Day and Radio Day fundraisers.
Join us and become a Lion! Contact Lion Linda A. Starr at 256-557-1808 for membership inquiries. Membership is by invitation only.
Our Monthly Meetings
We have around forty members. Meetings are held at POP's Smorgasbord, 1490 West Main Street, Centre, Alabama, on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 12:00 p.m. Participants cover their meal costs.
The first meeting focuses on club business, while the second includes speakers on various topics. We also enjoy social activities like parties and picnics.
