Rachel's Challenge

  • Rachel’s Challenge is a national non-profit foundation dedicated to making schools safer; more connected places where bullying and isolation are replaced with kindness and respect; where learning and teaching are awakened to their fullest. 
  • Based on the life and writing of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine tragedy in 1999, the Rachel’s Challenge Program provides a continuous improvement process designed to awaken the learner in every child.
  • The Cazenovia Lions Club is raising the funds to bring this program to the Cazenovia Community

Easter Egg Hunt

  • Held on Easter Saturday, Lakeland Park, Cazenovia, NY
  • Approximately 2,500 hand colored eggs distributed for egg hunt
  • Free doughnuts, hot chocolate, and coffee for participants
  • Prizes awarded for finding gold and silver colored eggs

Memorial Day Duck Race

  • Duck Race held after the Memorial Day Parade
  • Duck Race start is on Chittenango Creek near the Boy Scout Lodge on Riverside Drive.
  • Hundreds of Ducks swim to the finish line located at Rte. 20 bridge
  • Ducks are multi-colored plastic with numbers on the bottom

Ride for Sight

  • Motorcycle benefit day ride held on Father’s Day weekend.
  • Ride starts in Cazenovia, NY and ends at a designated restaurant in or near Cazenovia, NY
  • Proceeds from Ride for Sight go towards Cazenovia Lions Club sight programs

Student of the Month

  • Student of the Month program recognizes Cazenovia High School students who have been recognized for their outstanding contribution to their community.
  • Awards are handed out monthly to recognized students along with their picture in the Cazenovia Republican newspaper.
  • Student of the Month Banquet held annually for Student of the Month recipients and their families

Cazenovia High School Scholarships

  • Three scholarships are given each year to college-bound seniors.  Since its inception scholarships in excess of $25,000 have been awarded.

July 4th Fireworks

  • Cazenovia Lions Club sponsors the July 4th Fireworks display annually launched from the southern shore of Cazenovia Lake
  • This event is 100% community funded.
  • Donation form advertised in the Cazenovia Republican newspaper prior to event
