Meetings

Castle Hill Lions are involved in many CLUB SERVICE PROJECTS as follows:

Youth of the Year

The Youth of the Year Quest is designed to encourage students interest in leadership and the qualities required to take an active and constructive role in the community.  The quest seeks a high level of academic, leadership, sporting, public speaking, and citizenship achievements in its potential winners.  Castle Hill Lions Club takes an active role in the initial promotion in schools & local communities and judging at a club, zone and State level.

Again in 2021, Castle Hill Lions  has conducted the local event between Castle Hill High, Oakhill College and Gilroy High Schools, in early Feb and then the YOTH Area event.  If you would like to hear our 'Leaders of the Future' speak contact our Club (see contact us page).

Spec Savers, Vision Central,  Betta Vision, Eye Site, Clifford Chong , Michelle Rumley and Rotary as well as our Probus and Lions members, families and friends.  If you have any eye glasses for recycling or know of any optometrists that would like to collect recycled glasses for us, please contact Sisie Twigg .

Schools Community Service Awards

Each year Castle Hill Lions Club gives a Community Service Award to all TEN schools in the Castle Hill area. A represenative from our Lions Club attends each of the Presentation Evenings to present the award. We are able to recognise and encourage the contributions made by our young people to the community and build a positive relationship between schools and Lions.

Endeavour Industries

Endeavour industries provides employment for people with disabilities.   Each year we provide man power to run Christmas BBQ for Endeavour Industries and help out at other BBQ's throughout the year.  We have also provided funding for the refurbishment of their first aid room as one of our past projects.

Foodbank

Bunnings BBQ's

Fundraising is always a major part of any service club activities and Lions Club of Castle Hill are proud to be associated with Bunnings in weekend BBQs.  Our sausage sizzles at Castle Hill Bunnings have been very successful bringing in good profits that we can put back into the community.  Lions Australia would like to thank Bunnings for their support provided to all service organisations across Australia.

Chocolate Wheel

On the 2nd Saturday of the month, Castle Hill Lions run a chocolate wheel at the Farmers' Markets , Castle Hill Showground from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. We buy fresh produce from the local growers for our prizes and we would like to thank them for their generosity. We would also like to thank the community for continuously supporting this fundraising activity.

Christmas Raffle for Westmead Children Hospital

Our Annual Xmas raffle runs over a six week period at various shopping centres in our area. We thank Garry for his great organisational skills and many hours manning the venues  and Tom McQuillan for donating prizes and of course all of our ticket sellers.   The funds will go to The Westmead Children's Hospital for Cancer Research. Many thanks to our local shopping centres for their support.   in 2017 the club raised approx $5380 in the Xmas raffle.

Christmas Cakes

It's getting close to that time of year again! We will be selling Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings at $13 each and Mini Christmas cakes for $2.  Donations are made to Meals on Wheels each year. If you would like to purchase any cakes, puddings or mini cakes they will be available at various shopping centres in the district or  you can contact any of our members (see contact us on this website).  In 2017 the club raised approx $2257 in the sales of Xmas cakes & puddings.

Lions Mints

Through the support of several commerical and club outlets, like the RSL Club, the local Police Station, plus Westpac & ANZ banks, the Lions Club Mints profit enables us to donate approx $800 per year to the disadvantaged in our community.  We do thank the generous owners of these outlets for assisting Castle Hill Lions as these retail outlets make no income from the sale.  We also thank Carole Rathgeber for her  dedication to the Lions Mints Project over many years.
