Leader Dog

A local woman, Sara Claudia Tillman, has received a leader dog from the Leader Dogs for the Blind organization (www.leaderdog.org).  She was sponsored by the Carrollton Lions Club and she is in Rochester Michigan learning how to use a leader dog.  Sara Claudia lost her sight and partial hearing in 2015.  For more information about this amazing young woman please see her website at SaraClaudia.com.

Annual Barbeque Fund Raiser

Annually the Carrollton Lions Club hosts a barbeque fund raiser at the Carrollton Ag Center.  This popular event is the major funding source for Lions club projects.

Safari Park

The club through grants, donations, and hands on work was instrumental in the development of a community playground geared to physically and visually impaired.  The Safari Playground is next to the WPA Center on highway 27.

In 2007, the Carrollton Lions Club was named as a recipient of the State of Georgia Volunteer of the Year in the organization category.  The club was recognized for its continuing efforts in the development of the Safari Park playground.  The facility is valued at more than $250,000.00.
