CLUB

             1939 - (Our 85th year of Community Service) - 2025

We were chartered in November of 1939 and have provided help and served those in need in the community ever since. Our club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, with more than 1.4 million members in hundreds of countries and geographical areas. The proceeds from our fund-raisers are used to provide aid for the blind, visually-handicapped, deaf and hearing-impaired as well as many other worthwhile causes. Current members of the Calumet City Lions Club represent more than 1,000 years of community service through Lionism. (Click on PHOTO GALLERY on the upper left to view a picture of our current members.)

FE-"BRR"-UARY

Many thanks to District 1-A Governor Brenda Stevens (et al), who joined us at our General Membership meeting on February 11. It was a wonderful evening as we came together to celebrate the "HEART" work of our club amd the impact we've made on our community. Let's continue celebrating our 85th year of service and share in the spirit of camaraderie, dedication and giving. See you when we meet again on Tuesday, March 11.

 * * *   Lion Chuck and Lady Lion Pam Eggebrecht are grandparents again!  They welcomed grandson Graham Nicholas Eggebrecht into our world on Jan. 3, 2025, at 10:51 a.m. The future Lion weighed in at 8 lb., 4 oz., and stands (well, maybe not just yet) 19.5 in.
SPOILER ALERT:  They're gonna spoil him along with his proud parents, Nick & Katie Eggebrecht.
Congrats, Lion Chuck & Pam and the whole Eggebrecht clan!!!
* * *  More than 35 Lions and spouses gathered at Castle-Hill Funeral Home on February 2 to bid farewell to Lion Ray Mika and thank him for his 67 years of service. Atta boy, Lion Ray! Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

  Just Wondering:
--  How do you get off a non-stop flight?
--  How come noses run and feet smell?
--  Why is it called a TV set when there's only one?
--  Why do we put cups in the dishwasher and dishes in the cupboard?
