The Motto of our association is "We Serve."

We serve because we care about our community and the less fortunate. Every year Lions Club of Calcutta Greater conducts blood donation camps, free health check-up, eye screening camps with free spectacles distribution, free cataract operations, diabetic awareness camps, tree plantations, installation of tubewells etc.

Lions Club of Calcutta Greater was sponsored by Lions Club of Calcutta and was inaugurated on 19th April 1971 and chartered on 3rd May 1971 with Lion S.N. Bhartia as the Charter President.

The club has grown in leaps and bounds and now is in its 40th year. There have been lots of milestones of service activities in these eventfull 39 years.

Lions Club of Calcutta Greater is a 39 year young club with about 75 members under District 322 b1.

OUR MISSION

TO CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the people of the world.

TO PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.

TO TAKE an active interest in civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

TO UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.

TO PROVIDE a forum for open discussion of all matters of public interest, provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members.

TO ENCOURAGE service minded men to serve their community without personal financial rewared and to encourage efficiency and to promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
