COMPETITION RULES

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS THE RULES HAVE CHANGED

Indemnity - The Lions greenback fishing competition committee, its officials, agents or any other person or persons associated with the event do not accept or admit any liability whatsoever occasioned by any injury, loss or damage, including life and property,of any kind whatsoever, which may be suffered by any person or persons be they competitor or visitor, before, during or after the competition. All persons are to fully understand that in participating, they do so entirely at their own risk.

FISHING BOUNDARIES - From - South wall of the Tweed River.  To - North wall of Evans Head.  Boundaries are tidal waters only. These are beach, rock and estuary.  Boats are permitted in estuaries and rivers only.

ANY COMPETITOR caught fishing out of bounds shall be disqualified.  Professional fishermen are eligible to enter the competition, however they are bound by the same rules and bag limits as all other amateur fisherman.  NO ONE ANGLER shall take out more than one prize in the heaviest of species category.  ALL FISH must solely be caught by one competitor, of legal length, whole for weighing in, must not have broken necks or have been gutted.  ALL FISH submitted for weigh in shall be caught by hook, inside comp hours and available for scrutiny until prize winners have been announced.  The organizers reserve the right to gut any fish.  ALL FISH submitted for weigh in shall be auctioned for charity.  NO dogs, camping or fires are permitted on the beach.  THE WINNERS of all fish prizes will be required to sign a statutory declaration declaring that the prize winning fish has been caught in accordance with these rules.  ANY EVIDENCE OF NON COMPLIANCE with the rules and goodwill of the competition will be placed in the hands of the APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY.

The Lions Greenback Fishing Competition organizers would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support.  Funds raised by the competition help support local charities.  We hope all competitors have a good weekend and thank you for your participation.  We look forward to seeing you again next year.
