Brush Lions Club Projects & Events

Eyeglass Recycling - Our club collects used, unwanted eyeglasses through multiple collection boxes located throughout the town.  If you have any old pairs or eyeglasses lying around your home, please take them to one of our collection boxes and we will recycle them and get them to a person in need.  Each year our club collects approximately 1,000 pair of eyeglasses through this recycling program.

Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast - Our club has hosted the annual Fourth of July Pancake breakfast for years!  One of the major events in our community is the annual Brush Rodeo, which is held on July 2, 3, 4 every year.  On the morning of July 4th the Brush Lions Club will host the pancake breakfast (which includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice) from 6:00 am - 10:00 am at the East Morgan County Library Park.  After the breakfast the Annual Fourth of July Parade will begin.

Community Events - there are many community events throughout the year which the Brush Lions Club offers our services, and our five grill trailer, for the quick preparation of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, steaks, burgers, and hot dogs.

Community Easter Egg Hunt - Every year before the Easter Holiday the Brush Lions Club puts on an Easter Egg hunt for the Brush community.

Highway Cleanup - Every year the Brush Lions Club members take part in a two-mile highway cleanup along US Highway 34 between Brush and Fort Morgan.  This is all a part of making our community, and between communities, look even better.

Brush! Rush! Traffic Control - If you haven't heard of the Brush! Rush!, then boy do you need to listen up!  Every year in June the Brush Recreation Department puts on the Brush! Rush! 5k Run/Walk throughout the City of Brush!.  The runners and walkers zig and zag throughout town and the Brush Lions Club assist the runners by pointing them in the right direction, as well as keeping the cars out of their way!

Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner- This takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Brush at one of the local schools. Our members are joined by community volunteers and donations and cook and serve a Thanksgiving dinner to any and all who join us. Whether you are in need, want some company, or don't want to cook, we invite all to join us. We serve about 200-250 people every year.
