Welcome NEW MEMBER Dave Hartley!  He was sponsored by Lion President Rick and will be inducted at the next regular meeting.  Membership now up to 19!

Good news!  Previous member and Past President Charles Moore is rejoining the club.  This brings our membership up to 18 members.

We collected over $600 in donations during our recent Brighter Visions campaign.  This will be sent to help support Camp Dogwood and the other state-wide vision projects.  Excellent work and surely a new record for our club!

We made over $4000 selling 3,250 pairs of eclipse glasses at 20 locations in the county.  This will be used to help fund our club-level vision projects in Transylvania county.

We made $479 at our twice-postponed Flea Market on July 8.  Thanks to all the willing workers!

Lion Rob reported that he turned in over 1700 pair of used eyeglasses at the recent Vision Van visit - a new record!  We also provided vision and hearing screening for 24 people at this visit.

In December a grant of $2500 was received for our glasses assistance project from the Outreach Committee of the Episcopal Church Women of St. Philips Episcopal Church.  This will be a great help in meeting the ever-increasing need for our assistance.

A $2500 donation from the Lake Toxaway Charities organization was received in May, which will allow our club to continue to provide glasses for the needy of Transylvania County, through requests from over 25 aid organizations in WNC.

Thanks to Lion Joe Workman for his work posting club meeting notices in the local newspaper.  Very well-written and informative.  He has also created a Facebook page for the Brevard Lions Club at

Congratulations to Lion Harry Corbin for 67 years of membership, Lion Jake for 42 years,  Lions Tony and Ed for 36 years, Lion Gary for 31 years, and Lion Harvey for 26 years!
