The Bowie Lions Club participates in the SHARE food program.  SHARE Food Network is an amazing and unique program that is open to everyone.  SHARE distributes high quality affordable and nutritious food as a way to build community and strengthen families.  Whether you would like to save money on groceries, volunteer in the community, or promote health and wellness, it's worth getting involved with SHARE!

 

The Bowie Lions Club participates in the City of Bowie Farmers Market.   

 

City of Bowie Farmers’ Market

The market will open on Sunday May 15 and run through October 30.

Last year the special events took place on the following days.

July 13 Community Day ( Come and meet members of the Bowie Fire Department, Bowie Police and the Bowie Park Rangers while enjoying a free snow cone  from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

August 8 Corn Roast ( Come by and enjoy free corn on the cob fresh of the grill 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

September 10 Agricultural Day ( Farm Animal Petting Zoo 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

October 24 October fest  (FREE Scarecrow Making - (Participants need to supply a long sleeve shirt, panty hose  and trousers)  FREE Pumpkin Painting - (Pumpkins not supplied, but  available for purchase at market 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

A variety of vendors offer fresh, locally grown produce, fruit, cut flowers, plants, breads, pastries, jams and jellies. 

The market takes place on Sunday mornings (through October) from 8 a.m. to noon in the Bowie High School parking lot.
