Charlotte is the Pride of Birchwood Youth! ........... Now she is the Great Britain and Ireland Young Ambassador of the 21st Century!
Charlotte Rose Smith from Birchwood, Warrington is the winner of the Lions Clubs International 'Young Ambassador for Great Britain and Ireland' She was selected from scores of worthy participants from all parts of the UK and Ireland. She was presented with the Lions ' Charles Forte' trophy following a two day event in Birmingham, and received a large sum of money which will be donated to needy causes of her choice.
A pupil of Birchwood Sixth Form College, 17 year old Charlotte has been involved with charity work for several years. She has travelled to South Africa on several occasions and assisted with learning facilities at an orphange, as well as helping other individuals and groups in her local community.
Charlotte will now travel to Brussels later in the year to take part in the European Lions Young Ambassador finals.
Charlotte said, "The most rewarding thing for me, is knowing that I have helped someone else and had an opportunity to work hard at something and achieve my goal. People will forget what you said, they may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. It is important to do a job with your heart as well as your head."
Charlotte continues to perform her voluntary work both overseas and in Birchwood where she is often seen helping others along with her sponsoring Club, Birchwood Lions.
Lions Clubs International is a network of 1.4 million men and women in 45,000 Clubs in 208 countries dedicated to helping those less fortunate than themselves.
