Dalhousie Hearing Aid Assistance Program

The Dalhousie Hearing Aid Assistance Program is looking for used hearing aids. And you can help. http://www.dal.ca/faculty/healthprofessions/human-communication-disorders/dhaap/about.html

Hearing aids for people with a hearing impairment are a necessity for better living.

They may be a necessity but for many they are not available due to the cost.

Berwick Lions Club along with the Lions in District N-2 (Nova Scotia) have partnered with the Dalhousie University Medical School to collect used hearing aids.

The returned hearing aids will refitted for people who cannot afford to purchase such an  expensive item on their own.

And just as important, the audiology students at Dalhousie University will get hands-on experience  learning how to fit the aids since each aid is specifically fitted for each user.

Larry Salsman of Larry's Pharmacy, 182 Commercial Street has agreed to be the drop off location for the Berwick area. Larry's Pharmacy has a drop off receptacle for collecting any hearing aid that have no use for the current owner.

Do you have a hearing aid you are not using? Put it back in service by donating it to the Berwick Lions and it will be refitted for someone who can use it.
